Valley Assembly’s Women’s Ministries LIFE Unlimited!

 

Women’s Ministries Board: Rhonda Bailey, Mollie Brewer, Stasi Brown, Crystal Friedman, Debra Jones, Joyce Manchego, Geraldine Stanton, Maria Neff, Christie Voss, Coordinator - Carrie Ayers

We want to invite you to think about the opportunities for participation in the Women’s Ministries at Valley Assembly and find a place here or in the possibilities we are dreaming about.

Under each area we will give information including: name of director, ministries available, and specific ways to be involved.

Missions: Geraldine Stanton

$1-a-Week – Sign up to donate a total of $52 for the year 2008 and receive a free mug.

Prayer for our Missionaries – those that we support as a church and those we support with our $1-a-Week giving.

Correspondence – Gerry will have information about how you can be supportive to missionaries through email, letters, or cards.

Adopted Missionaries – Vernon and Janice Finck are missionaries to Africa and are a family we bless with Christmas, birthday and anniversary cards and gifts.

Thursday Morning Joy – Meets Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00

Women of the Word –. These classes give time for sharing together, a Bible study and personal prayer. Fall and Winter sessions. Childcare is provided.

Intercessory Prayer – Joyce Manchego

Joyce directs a study and intercessory prayer for specific needs for our church, country and our world.

Moms Reaching Moms – Christie Voss

The 2nd & 4th Thursdays – provide an opportunity for mothers with young children to meet for inspiration, practical information about life issues they face as mothers, crafts, and experiencing friendship with other mothers. Childcare is provided.

Discipleship – Carrie Ayers

Wednesday Night Life Classes – Meeting weekly at 7:00 pm when adult electives are offered.This provides a class for women to study the Bible, learn how to apply it to their everyday life, and develop friendships with other women while discussing aspects of what they have learned. The church offers classes and nursery for the children.

Single Women – Joyce Manchego

Sunday Brunch – A brunch is provided for all single women that are wanting to share some time together, make friends and learn about other times of being together. The brunch begins at 12:35 pm following the 2nd worship service every Sunday in the church gym.

Camp Outs & Retreat

Special Blessings – Rhonda Bailey

Decorating the Church – Seasonal changes in the church décor give women the opportunity to enjoy a time together of blessing our church fellowship with beautiful touches.

Showers – This group of women set up, clean up and provide the cake and table décor for showers. Showers are advertised in the church bulletin and given for active attending women that are:

-getting married for the first time and the wedding is open to all the church (scheduled 1-2 months prior to wedding)

-having her first child (scheduled 1-2 months after the baby is born)

If for some reason, a shower cannot be scheduled due to fullness of the church calendar, women’s ministries will be a blessing with a gift certificate.

Receptions – This team of women will provide set up, service, and clean up for those having a wedding reception at our church that has been scheduled with our church wedding coordinator. Other receptions available for 50th, 60th and 75th wedding anniversaries.

Prayer Chain – Frances Hester

Women that can be called upon to pray for emergency needs.

Missionettes – Maria Neff

This club for girls meets Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. Because this is the auxiliary for Women’s Ministries, we support them with prayer, scholarships for leadership training, and camp scholarships. Women find this a great opportunity for a place of teaching or helping in the girl’s classes.

Benevolence Meals – Terah Manchego

Preparing meals to take to those needing the loving care of a meal provided for them, such as in returning from a hospital stay.

Special Events – Rhonda Bailey & Carrie Ayers

Christmas Festival – An outreach for women to decorate tables for Christmas and hostess guests that they or someone else has invited to have a beautiful evening learning about the wondrous gift of God’s great love for us.

Creative Friendzy – Girls’ Night Out

Women’s Encounter & Discovery Retreats

Overnight retreats offered 3 times a year with classes for Encounter and Discovery running simultaneously. Encounter – to strengthen and deepen our walk with the Lord. Discovery – to learn about our giftings and how to use them.

Library Fund

Collection of cancelled stamps, trimmed to ¼” around the stamp and turned in to WM leaders to be sent to National office for fundraising to provide materials for Bible Colleges around the world.

Providing opportunities to bless the college students that are a part of the Chi Alpha ministry

Survival Sacks – preparing goodies for students during finals

Christmas Boxes for Kids

Helping the children’s ministries prepare Christmas gift boxes to be given to children in need.

Backpacks for Kids – Providing backpacks to school children in the fall.

Ministry Fair

Set up and Clean up – tables ready for ministries to decorate.

Outreach Projects – Financial donations

New Hope in Tooele, UT – Teen Challenge for young girls

House of Promise in Olathe, CO – For women with children needing a safe place

Hillcrest Children’s Home – Assemblies of God home for children with special needs that cannot be adopted

Highland Child Placement - Assemblies of God agency and home for young women choosing to give their babies for adoption. Donations go to the “Baby Bootie Club”

Pregnancy Resource Center – Local support for women not wanting to have an abortion
